Project description
Church sound reinforcement
At the end of 2021/beginning of 2022, PHOENIX Professional Audio equipped the Capuchin monastery of St. Sebastian in Rosenheim (Bavaria) with a new PA system from its own brand “Phoenix Professional Audio”:
The heart of the new sound system in the church is the POWERVOICE PV-DSP-4ACD.9.4.2X – a digital DSP automatic mixer amplifier with DSP4, 2 x digital power amplifier (class -D), phantom power, HPF filter (100Hz), MIC-LINE, digital automatic system, audio matrix, conference configuration / priority, dynamic Compressor-Expander-Limiter function, DeEsser and MP3 player with BT receiver.
The high-end automatic mixers are specially developed for use in acoustically demanding buildings (building acoustics).
Phoenix’s sound reinforcement concept includes the use of speakers with Beam Steering technology: The DSP Beam Steering Line Arrays DIGIVOICE-350.16DSP2 enable continuous real-time electronic control of the sound aperture angle and angle of inclination in the vertical direction, completely without mechanical alignment of the loudspeaker systems (tilt). The slim loudspeaker columns have been specially developed for sound transmission in acoustically challenging rooms such as churches and contribute in particular to the reverberation reduction in the monastery.
The professional passive directional sound columns of the K1 and K4 series for galleries and altars were specially made for the monastery in special colors “stone gray” and “ivory”. In this way, they blend in particularly unobtrusively with the interior of the church.
A MEX-1-500 gooseneck microphone was used in the gallery.
A new radio system from the “MIPRO” brand also ensures complete flexibility and freedom of movement during the services.
