Project description
Church PA
At the end of 2022, the Église Saint-François de Sales church in Chêne-Bourg / Geneva (Switzerland) received a new sound system from PHOENIX Professional Audio:
In the church, two digital modular LINE ARRAYS with Beam Steering technology “DIGIVOICE” ensure uniform sound. The speakers, which were specially developed for sound transmission in acoustically difficult rooms with long reverberation times, use so-called beam steering, which enables real-time, stepless electronic control of the sound opening angle and tilt angle in the vertical direction – completely without mechanical alignment of the speaker systems (tilt).
The line arrays are powered by the DSP-controlled digital automatic mixer amplifier POWERVOICE PV-DSP-4ACD.9.4.2X. The automatic mixer is equipped with two Class-D digital power amplifiers, phantom power, HPF filter (100Hz), MIC-LINE, digital automatic system, audio matrix, conference configuration / priority, dynamic Compressor-Expander-Limiter function, DeEsser and MP3 player with BT receiver.
Also installed were 2 WM-200DT digital power amplifiers (200W sinus/100V output and EQ) – to drive the gallery speakers – as well as the universally applicable MP-MX-3 mono preamplifier (2 x microphone/1 x LINE with MP3 player module with BT receiver, LF/HF EQ, phantom power), whose separate sound control ensures precise room equalization and best adaptation to the room acoustics.
The delicate MEG and MEX gooseneck microphones from the own brand Phoenix Professional Audio on the ambo, on the altar and on the priest’s seat blend in with the elegant church interior architecture and ensure perfect speech reproduction thanks to an extremely straight frequency response.
A MIPRO brand radio system was also installed for flexible use with great freedom of movement. MIPRO’s high-quality wireless systems offer above-average RF performance and exceptional sound quality.

On board: 1 x controllable and 1 x fixed beam for close range. 16 channel DSP2, L=2.3m, 16 x 20W/PWM, sound range 25 m@95dB. 210 watts sine power. Equipped with 20 x 3.5″ neodymium chassis and 3 x HF magnetostatic transducer.
