New Hymn Board with APP control
In autumn 2023, the Church Église St. Philippe and St. Jacques in Vernier near Geneva (Switzerland) celebrated its 180th anniversary. Just in time for this festive event, the church was equipped with a new sound system from PHOENIX Professional Audio.
The professional passive directional sound columns K4-100F were installed for the main sound system in the nave. The sound columns are specially developed for sound transmission in acoustically difficult rooms with long reverberation times, such as churches. The uniform volume and excellent speech intelligibility throughout the entire sound area are just some of the advantages of the sound columns. Specially and specifically directed sound radiation in the vertical plane results in increased directivity and a wider frequency response.
The housing made of specially shaped aluminum profile is particularly stable and elegant in design, and adapts perfectly to any environment. The slim speaker columns, whose frequency-independent directional sound radiation is limited to the audience area, ensure maximum speech intelligibility during sermons and readings and outstanding music performance during choir singing and concerts.
The sound columns are powered by the DSP-controlled digital automatic mixer amplifier POWERVOICE PV-DSP-4ACD.9.4.2X. The automatic mixer is equipped with two Class D digital power amplifiers, phantom power, HPF filter (100Hz), MIC-LINE, digital automatic system, audio matrix, conference configuration / priority, dynamic Compressor-Expander-Limiter function, DeEsser and MP3 player with BT receiver.
Thanks to their extremely straight frequency response, the MEG and MEX gooseneck microphones on the ambo, on the altar and on the gallery ensure perfect speech reproduction. With their delicate appearance they almost completely blend in with the elegant church interior architecture.
A MIPRO brand radio system was also installed for flexible use with great freedom of movement. MIPRO’s high-quality wireless systems offer above-average RF performance and exceptional sound quality.
In addition, the 2-line LED hymn board HYMN-1-100-APP was set up in the church with a gateway in French for the operating app. This means that the hymn board can be conveniently operated on site using a tablet.
