Project description
Church PA
In spring 2019, the Phoenix Professional Audio team renewed the sound system of the Heilig-Geist Church in Elchesheim-Illingen (Baden-Wurttemberg).
Phoenix Professional Audio’s digital sound concept included the installation of DIGIVOICE-350.16DSP2 Digital DSP Beam Steering Line Arrays, a POWERVOICE PV-DSP-4ACD.9.4.2X DSP Digital Power Mixing Amplifier, K4 Series Passive Passive directive column speakers, new church microphones for ambo and altar and a new wireless microphone system.
The newly developed line arrays DIGIVOICE-350.16DSP2 (16-channel DSP) with 1 x controllable and 1 x fixed beam for near field were specially designed for sound transmission in acoustically difficult rooms with complex acoustics and long reverberation times, such as Churches, cathedrals, conference rooms, museums, airports, train stations, halls but also designed for multimedia applications.
The active modular 16-channel DSP-based speaker systems (each of the 16 DSP channels has its own Class-D digital power amp (16 x 20W)) cover a sound range of 40 mrt @ 95dB and have a total power of 330 watts sinus (16 x 20 W digital AMPs).
The arrays are equipped with 27 x 3.5″ neodymium chassis and 4 x RF magnetostatic transducers.
The active DIGIVOICE sound columns consist of software-controlled loudspeakers. The independent DSP channels allow individual, very precise loudspeaker control and thus optimal adaptation to the individual acoustic room conditions. Through a sophisticated mathematical calculation of the optimal parameters, the integrated DSP technology produces precise directional radiation and highly accurate directivity.
Even volume and excellent speech intelligibility throughout the PA area are just a few of the benefits of the DIGIVOICE series. State-of-the-art beam steering technology provides real-time stepless electronic controllability of the sound opening angle and tilt angle in the vertical direction, completely without mechanical alignment of the loudspeaker systems (inclination). Thanks to the electronic inclinability, the line arrays can be mounted flat against the wall and thus merge inconspicuously with the room architecture.
The Phoenix Professional Audio team, which has been specializing in church PA for many years, has also been responsible for assembly/ installation / telecommunications and microphone wiring, as well as acoustic measurement and on-site leveling.
About us
With over 30 years of expertise and +3000 projects implemented worldwide, PHOENIX Professional Audio has specialized in the field of professional PA – with a particular focus on church acoustics & public address sound reinforcement. For managing director and project manager Peter M. Krziwon as well as project manager Harald Seidl, perfect speech intelligibility and music reproduction are the highest demands – especially in acoustically demanding rooms such as churches.
