Project description
Church PA
In May 2024, the baroque-style parish church of St. Andreas in Schwalldorf / Rottenburg am Neckar (built in 1733) in Baden-Wuerttemberg was equipped with a new sound system from PHOENIX Professional Audio.
The slim K4-60F, K4-80F and K4-100F directional column speakers, whose frequency-independent directional sound radiation is limited to the audience area, ensure optimal speech reproduction and outstanding music reproduction in the church. The K4 series column speakers developed by Phoenix are specifically designed for sound transmission in acoustically challenging spaces with long reverberation times, making them ideal for use in St. Andreas Church.
The heart of the new sound system is the DSP-controlled POWERVOICE PV-DSP-4ACD.9.4.2X digital automatic mixing amplifier, which drives, among other things, the sound columns in the main nave. Featuring two Class-D digital amplifiers, phantom power, HPF filter (100 Hz), MIC-LINE, digital automatic system, audio matrix, conference configuration/priority, dynamic compressor-expander-limiter function, de-esser, and MP3 player with BT receiver, the automatic mixer offers first-class technical features and ensures precise room equalization.
A new microphone system was also installed: Thanks to their delicate appearance, the MEG and MEX gooseneck microphones blend harmoniously with the church’s interior architecture. At the ambo, on the altar, and in the gallery, their extremely linear frequency response ensures perfect speech reproduction.
For flexible use with great freedom of movement, a MIPRO wireless system was also installed.
After the Phoenix team leveled and adjusted the new sound system, a significant acoustic improvement with a significant reduction in reverberation was achieved in St. Andreas Church.
