Project description
Church sound reinforcement &
Acoustical optimization
The Roman Catholic Parish Church of St Michael in Reichenkirchen, a district of the municipality of Fraunberg in the Upper Bavarian district of Erding, is a late Gothic building that was redesigned in the Baroque style in the second half of the 17th century and restored in the middle of the 18th century th century in the Rococo style.
At the end of 2020, the acoustics in the church were improved by the PHOENIX Professional Audio team. The existing speakers and microphones should continue to be used.
The digital automatic mixing amplifier PV-DSP-4ACD.9.4.2X makes a decisive contribution to the acoustic optimization of the public address system in the church (own brand Phoenix Professional Audio). The amplifier, specially developed for churches and acoustically challenging buildings in general, is equipped with two Class-D power amplifiers and other features essential for reverberation reduction, such as DeEsser (dynamic attenuation of “SSS” and sibilance), Compressor Expander and much more.
In order to achieve better acoustics (less reverberation in the rear nave), the wiring of the loudspeakers was also changed. The rear loudspeakers are controlled with a delay and the monitor loudspeakers in the altar area were decoupled and controlled separately.
The PHOENIX Professional Audio team also took on the acoustic measurement and system level adjustment on site.
