With over 1,680 visitors and around 100 exhibitors from Germany and many European countries, the trade fair for funeral supplies and cemetery technology PIETA took place from 26-27 May 2023 in Dresden. Spread over 23,000 m² of hall space and 13,500 m² of open space, the exhibitors at PIETA, which has been held since 1996, show how the work of undertakers, cemetery and crematorium employees can be made better, more efficient and more creative.
The team from PHOENIX Professional Audio was also there for the first time as an exhibitor and presented the numerous interested trade visitors from the funeral industry with the latest products and technologies from the field of Digital mobile sound for funeral services (you can find more information on our website >>).

With more than 30 years of experience in the field of electroacoustics and comprehensive know-how from numerous successful acoustic projects worldwide, the PHOENIX team presented its diverse mobile sound systems suitable for speech and music transmission in the funeral sector and high-quality digital amplifier systems tailored for use in indoor areas such as funeral halls and cemetery chapels.

In addition to smaller, compact, battery-operated portable speaker systems from the MA series for acoustic support of the speaker, e.g., at gravesites, PHOENIX placed particular emphasis on mobile sound systems from the PHOENIX ZP-X series with a digital radio system that ensures particularly interference-free radio transmission and a long range in open spaces, such as during funeral marches.
The innovative digital radio system integrated into the ZP-X Series mobile sound systems ensures particularly high levels of protection against radio interference, such as radio noise, during use: The so-called “pairing” between the radio receiver and transmitter creates a digitally coded, closed “radio bridge” that prevents the intrusion of other, unpaired, and unauthorized radio connections. In view of the current radio problems, the mobile PA systems of the PHOENIX ZP-X series offer a particularly reliable digital performance.

At the Phoenix Professional Audio booth, trade fair visitors were able to discover a variety of portable sound technology from the “ZP-X series” with state-of-the-art digital wireless technology – including the two very lightweight portable digital speakers ZP-02X and ZP-04X with 1 x wired and 1 x wireless microphone, which, thanks to their compact dimensions, very good speech intelligibility and long range, are perfectly tailored to the acoustic requirements, especially in outdoor areas such as cemeteries or funeral marches.
Another particular crowd-pleaser was the ZP-4D+2X digital mobile PA system with wireless handheld or bodypack transmitters and digital radio technology.
The slim system offers excellent speech intelligibility and high-quality music reproduction with a long battery life. It is easy to operate and also supports Bluetooth-enabled devices, making it the perfect acoustic solution for a contemporary farewell ceremony in the cemetery, chapel, or funeral home.

For mobile sound reinforcement of larger events in the funeral sector, the ZP-40 SLIM/2X procession system was the focus of the trade fair presentation as a special solution for use in large, drawn-out funeral marches and processions with several hundred people. The upper speakers can be rotated 180 degrees, allowing for simultaneous front and rear sound reinforcement or front sound reinforcement for a wide audience – with excellent speech and music transmission.
With the built-in BT receiver, music and pre-recorded speeches can be conveniently wirelessly transmitted and played from any Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., mobile phone) to the ZP-SLIM-X models.

For particularly high demands regarding uniform sound coverage across the entire sound reinforcement area, Phoenix presented the PV-LIVE mobile speaker system with DSP Beam Steering technology to trade fair visitors.
This innovative sound reinforcement solution ensures extremely uniform sound coverage in acoustically particularly challenging rooms and areas thanks to electronic control of the vertical dispersion angle (“Beam Steering”) .
The PV-LIVE digital active speaker system is equipped with an audio mixer and subwoofer and is particularly suitable for applications where speech intelligibility and music reproduction require a professionally designed acoustic result, such as the sound reinforcement of large cemetery halls or forecourts.
The mobile DSP Beam Steering speaker system enables particularly uniform sound coverage for large events with up to 500 people. The system is compact, quick to set up, and easy to stow away.

Trade visitors were able to thoroughly test the portable PA systems for funeral directors at the Phoenix PA booth and see for themselves that all mobile systems are extremely easy to operate and offer excellent speech intelligibility and outstanding music reproduction.
In addition to their dignified sound, Phoenix’s portable PA systems also impress with many other important features: They are quick to set up, versatile, weatherproof, and robust – making them the ideal acoustic companions for special ceremonies such as funerals.

For the PHOENIX team, PIETA in Dresden was a great success.
We had the opportunity to present and demonstrate our diverse audio products for the funeral industry and our passion for our work to numerous visitors. We arrived at our first PIETA trade fair with high expectations. These were far exceeded by the organization and the trade visitors. The high footfall at our booth was characterized by a diverse range of visitors and consistently very positive discussions.
