Project description
Church PA
The Catholic Church of St. Stephanus in Hohenbrunn (Munich district) was recently equipped with a new sound system by PHOENIX Professional Audio from its own brand:
In the baroque church, passive K4 directional sound columns with 3.5″ neodymium chassis form the main sound system. Loudspeakers equipped with neodymium magnets have a far better efficiency than loudspeakers with conventional ferrite magnets and therefore generate a higher sound pressure and a better intelligibility. One reason for this is the significantly higher field strength of neodymium magnets. Neodymium magnets are also significantly lighter than ferrite magnets, which leads to a considerable weight saving for loudspeakers equipped accordingly.
The systems deliver the highest level of speech intelligibility during church services and first-class sound when playing music.
The passive loudspeakers of the K4 series are powered by the DSP-controlled digital automatic mixer amplifier POWERVOICE PV-DSP-4ACD.9.4.2X. The automatic mixer is equipped with first-class technical features such as two Class-D digital power amplifiers, phantom power, HPF filter (100Hz), MIC-LINE, digital automatic system, audio matrix, conference configuration / priority, dynamic Compressor-Expander-Limiter function, DeEsser and MP3 player with BT receiver. It is specially developed for use in acoustically demanding buildings.
The new loudspeaker system requires the support of an inductive hearing system, so that it can also be heard well by hearing-impaired people. The main sound system was therefore supplemented by a new induction loop amplifier ILA-450, which was installed in the church. Since an ever-increasing number of people in churches are dependent on this help, a hearing loop is often indispensable in places of worship.
New hymn hoards with LED displays were also installed in the church: The TAB-LED-100 and TAB-LED-60 displays with electrical wall swivel brackets were used here.
With the ZP-4A+2 (SET) system, a mobile solution was found for the sound system in the cemetery. The compact, portable sound system is equipped with a digital amplifier (2 x
20W, 2-channel digital class-D) and USB/SD player with BT receiver. Thanks to the double radio receiver and the option of alternatively mounting the mobile loudspeaker system on a tripod, the system enables particularly flexible use, both indoors and outdoors.
The Phoenix team, which has specialized in church sound systems for over 20 years, also took on the measurement, leveling, room equalization and programming of the new sound system.
